Domestic workers: Facts and figures
At least 52 million are employed as domestic workers worldwide. 83 per cent are women, accounting for at least 7.5 per cent of women's wage employment. 29.9 per cent are excluded from the scope of national labour legislation. 45 per cent have no entitlement to weekly rest day. More than a third of women domestic workers have no right to maternity leave.
