The ILO-IMF partnership has been advancing in multiple countries:
- In Lebanon, efforts toward pension reform continue amid security challenges.
- In Morocco and Thailand, the ILO has contributed insights to IMF Article IV reports.
- In Comoros, the ILO supports actuarial evaluations of the social security system, with findings presented in high visible events.
- During the pilot phase in Iraq, the ILO, IMF, and World Bank developed a unified actuarial evaluation for pension reform, offering coordinated guidance.
Beyond country-level work, the ILO and IMF co-chair two significant global partnerships:
- The Social Protection Inter-Agency Cooperation Board (SPIAC-B)
- Universal Social Protection 2030 (USP 2030).
These initiatives enhance collaboration among international organizations, promoting universal social protection and supporting national efforts to develop inclusive and resilient social protection systems.
The partnership continues to strengthen with IMF participation in the ILO’s Social Security Academy and preparations for the UN Financing for Development Conference, reinforcing their shared commitment to advancing sustainable, equitable social protection worldwide.
