The ILO and the G7

The G7 is a forum for international economic cooperation among some of the world’s largest economies. It is made up of seven countries - Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, the United Kingdom and the United States - together with the European Union.

It meets to discuss pressing international economic, and at times also political issues, and coordinate global policy.

The ILO is a key knowledge partner to the Employment Working Group (EWG). It may also be called upon to support other working groups. The ILO provides technical inputs to the G7 EWG on policies that promote decent work and advance social justice. It conducts analysis and provides policy recommendations on labour, economic and social issues to support discussions of the group.
