The 4th International Conference on Financing for Development has provided a unique opportunity to reform global financing systems and address the funding gaps that hinder progress towards the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly in low- and middle-income countries.

The ILO delegation, led by Director-General Gilbert F. Houngbo, emphasizedthe need for integrated financing strategies that enable countries to invest in people by increasing social protection coverage and improving job creation through sustainable and inclusive economic growth, in line with SDG 8 and SDG indicator 1.3.1 on social protection. You can watch the video recording of sessions that were livestreamed.

This year’s conference will also lay the groundwork for the Second World Summit for Social Development.
