European Union - ILO Partnership

The European Union is a key partner of the ILO in advancing decent work and social justice worldwide.

The ILO works closely with several key European Commission Directorate‑Generals, including DG International Partnerships (DG INTPA), DG Employment, Social Affairs and Inclusion (DG EMPL), DG Trade (DG TRADE), DG Middle East, North Africa and Gulf (DG MENA), and DG Enlargement and the Eastern Neighbourhood (DG ENEST), to advance decent work and social justice globally. Through this partnership, including in collaboration with EU Delegations, the ILO implements a broad portfolio of cooperation at the country level in line with national and regional priorities.

EU–ILO collaboration spans a wide range of thematic areas of shared priority, including labour migration and labour mobility, skills development and employability, social protection, support for refugees and host communities, responsible supply chains, fundamental principles and rights at work, occupational safety and health, and gender equality in the world of work. These activities illustrate the diversity and scope of EU–ILO projects implemented across countries and regions.
