Washington launch of the book "Making Globalization Socially Sustainable" at the Peterson Institute for International Economics

In collaboration with the International Labor Office (ILO), the Peterson Institute held a conference on October 4, 2011, to present key findings from the new ILO-WTO co-publication Making Globalization Socially Sustainable. The edited volume includes nine chapters by leading experts who assess how trade and labor market policies can be accommodated to make globalization socially sustainable. The program began with an introduction by José Manuel Salazar-Xirinachs, Executive Director of the Employment Sector of the ILO and former Minister of Trade of Costa Rica, and overview of the book presented by Marc Bacchetta (WTO) and Marion Jansen (ILO). This was followed by presentations of individual book chapters by their respective authors: John Haltiwanger, Margaret McMillan and William Milberg.
