Promoting decent work for indigenous and tribal people through employment and investment programs

This policy brief provides insights into the various construction projects supervised by the Employment Intensive Investment Program of the International Labour Organization in favour of Indigenous and Tribal People.

Indigenous and Tribal People account for 5% of the population but 15% of the World´s poor. Despite dedicated policy frameworks and development programs, they continue to belong to the most vulnerable and marginalized groups in rural areas. The Employment Intensive Investment Program (EIIP) of the International Labour Organization (ILO) advocates for integrated infrastructure development programs promoting employment that can benefit Indigenous and Tribal People. This policy brief provides insights into the various construction projects supervised by the EIIP in favour of Indigenous and Tribal People.
