DiSCo - Digital Skills Coalition

Overview

Digitalization is reshaping labour markets, skills demand and the delivery of education and training. While digital opportunities are expanding, gaps in connectivity, capacity and access to quality learning pathways persist, with uneven impacts across countries and population groups. DiSCo responds to these challenges by supporting coordinated action on digital skills, with an emphasis on inclusion, quality, and labour-market relevance. A key dimension of this work is to support the development and use of shared resources, such as repositories of data and curricula and reusable digital platforms, as forms of Digital Public Infrastructure that can enable scale, interoperability and sustained public value.

What DiSCo does

DiSCo supports partners to:

• Strengthen digital skills ecosystems by establishing a structured mechanism for regional collaboration among national skills authorities and TVET institutions, including shared governance arrangements, regular technical exchanges and peer learning, and the harmonization of approaches (including where relevant competency standards) to improve alignment with evolving industry skills needs.
• Promote inclusive access to digital skills opportunities by supporting coordinated action that helps reduce digital divides and strengthens the capacity of institutions to expand relevant, quality learning pathways, particularly for young people and groups at risk of exclusion, within an inclusive and demand-driven skills and TVET system.
• Support scalable approaches by enabling effective use of shared resources and collective resource utilization through shared digital platforms, such as repositories that support curriculum and competency-standards sharing, positioned as Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI) that can be adapted across contexts and progressively expanded, alongside documentation and dissemination of good practices to support replication.
