Domestic workers

ILO report on decent work deficits in domestic work in Bangladesh

This paper presents the findings of an evidence-based study on decent work deficits in domestic work in Bangladesh. It analyses the perceptions of 500 domestic workers surveyed in Dhaka, among them 375 serve as live-in and 125 as live-out domestic workers.

Since a clear majority of domestic workers are women and girl children, this paper takes a gender lens to study the decent work deficits in domestic work.

It is worthwhile to mentioned that this study was commissioned by the ILO Dhaka Office and
conducted by the Refugee and Migratory Movements Research Unit (RMMRU).
