ObjectiveThe objective of the SIDA funded project is to promote the effective recognition and implementation of freedom of association and collective bargaining rights, with a focus on three sectors: agriculture, ready-made garments and mining.
At global level, the Project is aimed at strengthening ILO knowledge-base and capacity to implement high impact strategies on freedom of association and collective bargaining.
At country level, the project works towards an improved respect for freedom of association and collective bargaining rights through labour law reform, policy advice and capacity building programmes for constituents.
The project targets 7 countries: Brazil, Malawi, Niger, Philippines, Rwanda, Sri Lanka, Viet Nam.
This project shares the same strategic approach to the promotion of freedom of association and collective bargaining rights as the complementary project funded by the Government of Norway “Promoting the Right to Freedom of Association and the Right to Collective Bargaining – Phase II.”
