The wealth of experience in the Arab region related to individual Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) projects does not always translate into systemic policy change because monitoring and evaluation systems do not sufficiently capture the full impact of these projects.
The ILO provides support to institutions to design and pilot enhanced monitoring and evaluation systems. In addition, the ILO conducts impact assessments of projects that feed into policy recommendations. A recent example is the support to the National Framework for Empowerment and Employment with the Jordanian Ministry of Labour and UNICEF, and a study on the job retention of new graduates in Jordan that is being finalised.
