ILO Office for the Andean Countries
The ILO Office for the Andean Countries, based in Lima, is tasked with contributing to the mandate of promoting decent work and advancing social justice through activities in five countries of the Andean region: Bolivia, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, and Venezuela.
The Andean Office has a team of specialists and project staff whose mission is to provide technical assistance to ILO constituents —governments, employers' organizations, and workers' organizations— in the following prioritized areas of work:
- Formalization and productivity
- Social protection
- Youth employment
- Fundamental rights
- Just transitions
- Care economy
- Indigenous peoples

Thomas WissingDeputy Director of the ILO Office for the Andean CountriesThomas Wissing is an expert in international relations and labour rights, with 24 years at the ILO. He has led initiatives in Latin America, the Caribbean and Geneva, promoting the eradication of forced and child labour and human trafficking.
