The Results Book of the "Accelerating action for the elimination of child labour in supply chains in Africa (ACCEL Africa) project" 1st phase implementation presents a comprehensive account of the project's journey from November 2018 to June 2023.

The ILO ACCEL Africa project, funded by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of The Netherlands, was implemented in Cote d'Ivoire, Egypt, Malawi, Mali, Nigeria, and Uganda. It focused on five crucial supply chains - cocoa, cotton, tea, coffee, and gold mining.

The project adopts a comprehensive supply chain approach, by fostering multi-stakeholder dialogue and promoting responsible business practices. The project strives for a harmonious balance between business objectives, economic development, and respect for human rights.

Learn about the transformative work with supply chain actors, as the project collaborates with prominent industry players to make tangible improvements. From promoting health coverage for cocoa producers in Cote d'Ivoire to establishing public-private partnerships in gold mining sectors across multiple countries, the project's initiatives are making a difference.

Voices from project partners resonate throughout the book, sharing personal stories of change and empowerment. These accounts highlight the tangible impact of the project, from improved access to healthcare for cocoa farmers to the empowerment of communities and the engagement of work inspectors in tackling child labour.

Additionally, the Results Book explores innovative approaches taken by the project, such as the expansion of health insurance coverage, the established links between child labour and youth employment and the promotion of occupational health and safety.

Join us in celebrating the achievements and progress made by the ILO ACCEL Africa project. Let's accelerate action and ensure that no child is left behind.
