Myanmar Guide to ILO Fundamental and Governance Conventions

This publication of the eight Fundamental ILO Conventions, associated Protocols and the four ILO Governance Conventions in English and Myanmar languages marks the 100th Centenary of the International Labour Organization and is designed to promote awareness of international labour standards in Myanmar.

Myanmar joined the ILO in 1948 and has ratified three Fundamental ILO Conventions including: the Freedom of Association and Right to Organization Convention, 1948 (No. 87); the Forced Labour Convention, 1930 (No. 29); and the Worst forms of Child Labour Convention, 1999 (No. 182). The Government has also ratified a number of other ILO technical Conventions. This guide is useful reference point for the Government, employers, workers and other stakeholders wanting to learn more about the content of the ILO’s Fundamental and Governance Conventions.
