ILO and METI to co-host event promoting Business and Human Rights in Jakarta, Indonesia
The International Labour Organization (ILO) and the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) of Japan are jointly hosting a dialogue event in Jakarta, Indonesia, to boost human rights initiatives in Asian countries.
The ILO and METI are co-organising an event in Jakarta, Indonesia, titled Responsible Business, Human Rights and Decent Work in Asia: Harnessing synergies between human rights and inclusive growth, which showcases initiatives promoting responsible business conduct and respect for human rights throughout supply chains in Asia. The event will start at 8:30 am on 18 September 2023 (Jakarta time). Admission is free and live streaming will also be available. This event will bring together governments, workers’ and employers’ organisations from Bangladesh, Cambodia, Indonesia, the Philippines, Thailand, Vietnam and other Asian countries, along with the G7 governments, to build recognition among partner countries that resilient, sustainable, and inclusive economic growth and respect for human rights, including decent work for all, interact to create synergies.
The event will also share country-specific experiences and approaches to advance human rights efforts around the world, focusing on national ownership in light of each country’s context.
