Ms. Taguchi gave a presentation in Tokyo on child labour

Tokyo - Ms. Akiko Taguchi, Director, ILO Office for Japan participated in a roundtable meeting: Strategies to End Child Labour by 2025 (SDG Target 8.7), organized by non-governmental organization of ACE (Action against Child Exploitation) & The Child Labor Coalition on 13 May 2016. 

Among keynote speakers, Mr. Kailash Satyarthi, who was awarded a Nobel Peace Prize in 2014 and the founder of the Kailash Satyarthi Children’s Foundation, emphasized roles and responsibilities of key stakeholders to end child labour at the meeting.   Ms. Taguchi gave a presentation on the ILO’s activities against child labour there. 

18 guests and stakeholders in and outside Japan attended the meeting to share information about facts and trends on child labour; discussed the roles of stakeholders; and exchanged views on case examples.
