ILO-Japan Co-operative Alliance (JCA) Public Seminar:Future of Work × Africa × Cooperatives (9/13)

The ILO and Japanese Consumers' Co-operative Union (JCCU) has co-organized a Study Tour Programme for African Cooperative Leaders annually since 2010. 38 participants from 16 African countries have joined the program so far and learned various Japanese cooperative activities.

This year is the centenary year for the ILO, and this study tour has also continued for 10 years. Five leaders of cooperatives from Kenya, Nigeria, and Tanzania will join the study tour, which will be held in Tokyo and Nagano, from 5th (Thu) to 14th (Sat) September.

As a part of this programme, the ILO and JCA will co-organize a public seminar by the tour participants on 13th September. This seminar will be held as a TICAD7 Partner Project. This seminar will be a valuable time for hearing the voices of cooperative leaders, which play crucial roles in development, business, and employment creation in Africa.
