The ILO publishes a wide range of books, reports, working papers, training manuals, CD-ROMs, videos and flash movies, relevant to the South Pacific Island Countries. Some of these can be downloaded directly. Others can be requested from the ILO Library in Suva.

    In 2015, the TACKLE project conducted a Rapid Assessment on Child Labour in Fiji. The objectives were to identify children in child labour and particularly the worst forms of child labour and the trends and gaps in addressing child labour issues. The Rapid Assessment involved a desk review (literature review) to provide a prelude of the issue of child labour at global, regional and national level with lessons learnt from child labour focused action programmes.

    The Rapid Assessment of Children in Child Labour in Honiara, Solomon Islands, was commissioned by the International Labour Organization (ILO) in response to concerns raised at the first National Child Labour and Trafficking Forum in Honiara in August 2014. The two main issues: commercial sexual exploitation of children and children working in the informal sector in Honiara were identified by stakeholders and the need for research on the issues as a main priority action.

  10. Post disaster needs assessment (PDNA) Brochure

    The PDNA is a mechanism for joint assessment and recovery planning following a disaster. Through this mechanism, the parties involved seek to assess the impact of a disaster and define a strategy for recovery, including the estimation of financial resources required. It pulls together information on the socio-economic aspects of damages, effects (economic losses, disaster caused changes in service delivery, governance and risk), impacts and needs, as well as highlights recovery priorities from a human recovery perspective. The cumulative result is a consolidated report that lends to a resilient recovery strategy.
