  1. High Level Tripartite Dialogue on Future of Work in the Pacific

    23 - 25 May 2017

    The ILO 11 Pacific member States along with key stakeholders from the Pacific development community participated in the High Level Tripartite Dialogue to discuss the Future of Work in the Pacific and propose recommendations to address the transformations unfolding across the region's labour markets and beyond.

  1. Pacific Summit and Policy Dialogue on Youth Entrepreneurship

    5 - 7 April 2017

    As the number of young entrepreneurs in the region grows, so does the need for a bigger voice to articulate their needs and concerns. In most Pacific countries, young entrepreneurs have limited opportunities and platforms to champion their cause, despite the numerous issues they encounter.

    Fifteen inspectors from Kiribati, Cook Islands, Tuvalu, Vanuatu, Solomon Islands and Tonga are joining WorkSafe and the International Labour Organization (ILO) for a five day foundations skills training programme.

  1. Pacific Sub-Regional Forum on Combating Child Labour and Trafficking

    13 - 16 April 2015

    The forum will bring together national level policy makers from a range of relevant government departments (including labour, education and social welfare) workers and employers’ organizations, civil society representatives, including media representatives from the five Pacific Island countries, Fiji, Kiribati, Papua New Guinea, Samoa and the Solomon Islands. The aim of the forum is to share knowledge and experiences on best practices methods when dealing with issues related to child labour and trafficking, develop a sub-regional strategy for action and develop media guidelines for advocating on child labour and trafficking issues.
