Tripartite Meeting on Promoting Social Dialogue and Good Industrial Relations from Oil and Gas Exploration and Production to Oil and Gas Distribution

The Tripartite Meeting on Promoting Social Dialogue and Good Industrial Relations from Oil and Gas Exploration and Production to Oil and Gas Distribution was held at the ILO, in Geneva, from 11-14 May 2009. Twenty-three Government representatives from 17 countries, as well as 18 Employer and 12 Worker members participated in the Meeting.

The purpose of the Meeting was to discuss recent developments, contract work employment, industrial relations, social dialogue and the implication of contract work issues in the oil production and oil transportation sectors, using a report prepared by the Office as a basis for the discussions.

The meeting adopted a set of conclusions, including proposals for action by governments, by employers’ and workers’ organizations, and by the ILO.
