2014 – the year of health at work
The "Institut National des Conditions de Vie au Travail" (INCVT) informs that the Minister of Health announced that he wishes 2014 to be the year of health at work in Morocco.
H.E. Mr El Houssaine Louardi, Minister of Health
"We are two times and a half more at risk in terms of occupational accidents compared to, for instance, countries in the Middle East. Therefore, we need to reflect and implement a strategy, and this is what we are doing at the ministerial level, together with our partners, in order to, first, promote a healthy, hygienic and safe working environment; and second, in a spirit of anticipation and with a culture of prevention, make together 2014 the year of health at work in Morocco".
Mr Abdelaziz Alaoui, President of the Moroccan Inter-professional Mutual Fund (CMIM)
"We do not have a [Statistical] Observatory which could accurately provide us with statistics on occupational accidents and diseases. Today, the only available statistical data is provided by the Ministry, we do not have the Observatory itself. We hope that the recommendation that we will adopt will finally lead to its establishment. This will allow us to have a clear idea about the number of occupational accidents and the state of health at work and working conditions".
