Seminar on International Labour Law. Third edition

The third edition of the Course on International Labour Law organized by the Department of Law of the University of Ferrara in collaboration with the Office of the International Labour Organization (ILO) for Italy and San Marino will take place from 1 to 20 December 2021.

The history of the Organization, its mandate and structure, as well as its normative function and the policies and programmes of the ILO are the main topics of the 15-hour training modules developed by the ILO Office for Italy and San Marino.

The course aims at providing knowledge about the ILO and its functioning. In the first part of the course, the origin and the history of the Organization will be illustrated. Moreover, the system of international labour standard will be explained.

The course will also focus on what the ILO does to improve labour standards and working conditions in the globalized economy. The final part of the course will provide the students with an overview on the ILO international labour standard supervisory mechanisms and bodies, and the function of the ILO Committee on Freedom of Association.
