    ILO Workplace Adaptation Programme aims to help ensure and enhance labour peace and contribute to an efficient and peaceful working environment in unity and solidarity through trainings on promoting the adaptation of Syrian and Turkish workers working at the same workplace and eliminating prejudice. More than 150 Syrian and Turkish workers at 16 firms located in Adana, Mersin and Gaziantep have benefited from ILO's Workplace Adaptation Programme.

    Boshra is only one of thousands of Syrians who participated in the vocational trainings and Turkish language courses carried out by the ILO in cooperation with the local partners. In cooperation with Chambers of Tradesmen and Craftsmen and Vocational Training Centres, ILO supports the access of Syrians to apprenticeship programmes by informing enterprises and Syrians about the apprenticeship system and by establishing linkages between vocational training centres and the private sector.

    Helder da Costa: Fragile to fragile (F2F) cooperation

    Helder da Costa is the General-Secretary of the g7+, which represents a collective voice of 20 fragile and conflict-affected states. Within the context of South-South Cooperation, he discusses the benefits of cooperation among fragile states, namely with regards to public finance management, natural resource management, and peace and reconciliation. Helder da Costa is participating in the ILO Solution Forum: "Promoting Sustainable Development and Decent Work through South-South and triangular cooperation in the framework of the post-2015 Development Agenda" on November 19, 2014 at the Global South-South Development Expo, in Washington DC.

For the last 70 years, the ILO has promoted South-South and Triangular Cooperation in vocational training in Latin America and the Caribbean, strengthened by the creation of ILO/Cinterfor 50 years ago, for the social development and economic growth of its countries.

    Tackling Child Labour in Agriculture

    Worldwide, agriculture is the sector where by far the largest number of working children can be found - an estimated 70 per cent, of whom 132 million are girls and boys aged 5-14. These children are helping to produce the food and beverages we consume. Their labour is used for crops such as cereals, cocoa, coffee, fruit, sugar, palm oil, rice, tea, tobacco and vegetables. They also work in livestock raising and herding, and in the production of other agricultural materials such as cotton and cottonseed.
