    Kuwait is an ILO member State which has ratified 19 ILO Conventions, including seven fundamental Conventions. Kuwait is committed to promoting decent work and social justice in the Arab States and in particular to support ILO programmes in the occupied Palestinian territory.

    Know About Business in the occupied Palestinian territory (oPt): Public-Private Partnership

    The ILO adapted its Know About Business (KAB) programme, which is a set of training materials for entrepreneurship education, to bridge the pre-start gap that students in the oPt face before entry to the labour market with information to develop entrepreneurial skills and prepare students and trainees not only to establish their own businesses, but also to work productively in small and medium enterprises (SMEs).

    The State of Kuwait grants the International Labour Organization (ILO) half a million US dollars, bringing the State’s total contributions dedicated to promoting decent work and social justice in the occupied Palestinian territory and the Arab States to US$3.5 million since 2009.

    The Taqeem Fund: Results-based monitoring and evaluation for youth employment in the MENA region: Public-Private Partnership

    To support youth employment initiatives and improving the effectiveness of their programs, the ILO initiated work on results-based monitoring and evaluation. This new public-private partnership (PPP) supports a select group of small and medium-sized youth employment organizations from the Middle East and North Africa region to develop strategies and provide evidence of their impact, through cost-effective and mass-market technology-based tools. The results are promoted to a broader community of policymakers, practitioners and funders. The Taqeem (wich means “evaluation” in Arabic) Community of Practice (CoP) is a group of fifteen youth employment organizations pioneering new approaches to build capacity in the MENA region to measure and monitor the impact of national programmes.
