ILO/Germany programme to protect garment workers affected by COVID-19

The German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) is giving €14.5 million to an International Labour Organization (ILO) multi-donor programme to help garment sector workers in seven countries who have been affected by COVID-19.

Alliance against Human Trafficking for Labour Exploitation: Public-Private Partnership

Facing the growing challenge of human trafficking for labour exploitation in Germany, a multi-stakeholder alliance was established. Through the implementation of state-specific structures (in the Länder) and well-organized networks, the alliance aims to fight human trafficking for labour exploitation and support the affected population – particularly migrant workers. This goal is directly linked to reducing discrimination and exploitation in the labour market.

Training "Identifying and investigating cases of forced labour and trafficking"
This course will train participants to better identify and investigate cases of forced labour and trafficking in persons for labour exploitation. It will address different stages of the investigative process, including detecting signs, inspecting workplaces, interviewing victims, and gathering other evidence. The course will focus on forced labour occurring in the private sector (including of textile, agriculture, and domestic workers), but will not specifically address sexual exploitation.
