    A boost to skills training in Bangladesh

    Two million people join Bangladesh’s workforce every year. It is vital that workers can learn the skills that respond to the needs of the labour market. ILO technical specialist, Ligaya Dumaoang, introduces the Skills 21 project, a joint initiative of the Government of Bangladesh and the ILO, funded by the European Union. The project seeks to increase productivity and employment opportunities by strengthening the country’s skills development system.

    ILO and H&M Group expand partnership

    The ILO and H&M Group have broadened their cooperation to further improve working conditions and productivity in textile and garment industry supply chains. This partnership will help drive both the Decent Work and Sustainable Development Goal Agendas in a key global sector.

    Progress booked after one year of ILO-EU-Bangladesh Compact on safety in garment factories

    A year ago, the ILO, the EU, Bangladesh and the United States signed a Compact to improve labour rights in the garment industry of Bangladesh.
