The ILO Decent Work Technical Support Team and Country Office for India (DWT/CO-New Delhi) organizes and takes part in a number of events and meetings in the sub-region. Below is a list of upcoming and past events. Any queries should be sent to the office by email.

  1. ILO Webinar on COVID-19: Stimulating the Economy and Employment​ in Asia and Pacific

    23 June 2020

    The lockdown measures have sparked an unprecedented economic crisis in most countries around the world. “Jobs-led” and “human centred” economic policies have become increasingly important and necessary in the COVID-19 crisis and recovery response. The ILO Policy Framework on COVID-19 Crisis based on International Labour Standards identified out four (4) pillars to fight the crisis and one of which is the pillar on “Stimulating the Economy and Employment”. This webinar, part of the ACTRAV Webinar Series 2.0 will explore how economic and employment policies (in particular active labour market policies) can support workers and sectors in the Asia Pacific region to promote employment growth and more decent work on the road to recovery.

  2. Webinar on COVID-19 preventive measures in Natural Stone Mining Industry

    18 June 2020

    This webinar was organized to strengthen understanding of preventive measures among key actors – the government, employers and workers – in the natural stone industry on the backdrop of COVID-19 pandemic.

  3. Conversations on Working in Freedom

    18 June 2020 - 30 November 2021

    The four part discussion series will build on ongoing conversations between ‘Working in Freedom’ programme partners to link evidence and gendering policies, and highlight the lessons learned. They can be drawn upon to inform policy efforts as well as strategize effectively on the ground.

  4. Webinar on EU-India remittances corridor

    18 June 2020

    In an effort towards facilitation of dialogue to assist with cost-effective flow of remittances and their development effect, under the EU-India CDMM Project, the ICMPD (project implanting partner) organised a webinar on EU-India remittances corridor.

  5. World Day against Child Labour 2020

    12 June 2020

    An advocacy-cum-awareness campaign for child labour elimination was organised jointly by ILO Project ‘Fundamental Principles and Rights at Work in Cotton Supply Chain Project’ and Government of Telangana on the occasion of World Day against Child Labour 2020.

  6. Webinar on COVID-19 Protect children from child labour, now more than ever

    12 June 2020

    ILO along with Ministry of Labour and Employment and VV Giri National Labour Institute worked organized a webinar on the occasion of World Day Against Child Labour.

  7. Trade Union Virtual Meeting on Impact of COVID-19 Crisis on Informal Workers in Lower Tiers of Supply Chains (Garment and Metal), Domestic Work and Agriculture

    11 June 2020

    A trade union consultative virtual meeting was organized by ILO to look at a few key sectors, which have faced a severe dent due to the ongoing crisis such as Informal economy workers and Home-based workers in lower tiers of the global and domestic supply chains, Domestic workers and Agricultural workers (more specifically those working in cotton production, including migrants).

    A virtual meeting on Reflections of the Indian Information Technology Industry on opportunities within the EU Legal Migration Framework organized under the EU-India Cooperation and Dialogue on Migration and Mobility Project implemented by the ILO, in partnership with the ICMPD and India Centre for Migration.

  10. COVID-19 and the World of Work: Sharing Experience and Way Forward - Virtual meeting

    The World of Work is being profoundly affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. In addition to the threat to public health, the economic and social disruption impacts the long-term livelihoods and well-being of millions. A trade union interactive meeting by ILO DWT/CO-New Delhi along with ACTRAV was organized to strategize the action.
