Events and meetings

The ILO Decent Work Technical Support Team and Country Office for India (DWT/CO-New Delhi) organizes and takes part in a number of events and meetings in the sub-region. Below is a list of upcoming and past events. Any queries should be sent to the office by email.

  1. National Level Advocacy Workshop on Rural Roads Maintenance Policy

    15 September 2016

    Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY), was launched as a special intervention of the Government of India with the broad objective of achieving poverty reduction. The ILO partnered with the National Rural Roads Development Agency (NRRDA) in producing guidelines on maintenance policy and maintenance management of rural roads.

  2. Migration in the SDG Agenda: Discussion on Indicators for Measuring Progress in the Indian Context

    30 August 2016

    FICCI, in collaboration with the ILO and IOM, plans a conference on Migration and the SDGs focussing on indicators applicable for the Indian context. Participants will be from the Government of India (NITI Aayog, and relevant ministries.

  3. Conference on Safe and Legal Migration, Overseas Employment organized by Government of Telangana

    16 - 17 August 2016

    The development of a State policy on labour migration; and to meet key stakeholders engaged on labour migration issues.

  4. Certificate distribution to trained Barefoot Technicians under the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act

    9 August 2016

    The Ministry of Rural Development (MORD), Government of India (GOI), organized an event to distribute certificates to 227 barefoot technicians trained on ILO-developed training materials.

  5. National Workshop on Total Abolition of Bonded Labour: The Way Forward

    4 - 5 August 2016

    The conference was jointly organized by Ministry of Labour and Employment, ILO and VV Giri National Labour Institute.

  6. Employers Federation of India organizes discussion on apprenticeships

    3 August 2016

    Discussion, organized by Employers Federation of India, Mumbai on apprenticeships and in partnership with ILO.

  7. National Consultation on the SDGs - Industrialization and Employment for sustainable growth in India

    2 - 3 August 2016

    A national consultation on sustainable development goal 8 and 9 was co-organised by the Research and Information Service (RIS), NITI Aayog and the United Nations in India. This consultation was a part of a series of dialogues around the SDGs, with the participation of the Union and State governments, think tanks, civil society organisations and other partners.

  8. SDG Alliance 8.7 - South Asia Launch

    19 - 20 July 2016

    The Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) Alliance 8.7 is a partnership initiative that focused on ending child labour, force labour, modern slavery and human trafficking through coordinated, multi-stakeholder and concerted action.

  9. National Tripartite Dialogue on Future of Work: Challenges and Opportunities

    8 July 2016

    FICCI hosts a discussion bringing all stakeholders – workers, employers, and government – on how India’s future of work may look like in years to come.
