IBSA International Conference on South-South Cooperation 'Innovations in Public Employment Programmes & Sustainable Inclusive Growth'

Duration and Venue of the Workshop

The Conference will take place from 1st to 3rd March, 2012 (inclusive) at National Agricultural Science Centre (NASC), NASC Complex, Dev Prakash Shastri Marg, Pusa, New Delhi 110012, India

Travel and Hotel Accommodation Arrangements

Participants, preferably, will be required to bear the travel costs and make their own travel arrangements. However, in case the delegates want the travel cost to be sponsored by the organisers the same may please be indicated at the earliest to enable us to make arrangements accordingly.

The organizers have made arrangements and will bear the cost for stay of participants (up to a maximum of 2 participants per country) for 4 nights (29th February to 3rd March, 2012). Airport Transfers and Local Transportation

Airport transfers will be arranged by the organizers. The organizers will also provide transport for the participants during the duration of the workshop. The participants are requested to inform the Organizing Committee once they have confirmed itineraries.

Working Language

English will be the working language of the Workshop. Arrangements for simultaneous translation to French and Spanish will be made. Invited countries are requested to ensure that at least one of the delegates from their country has fluent knowledge of English.

Passports, Visas and Health Documents

All participants should ensure, prior to departure from their home countries, that they have all the necessary travel and health documents, including a valid passport and necessary visas to enable them to enter and remain in India for the full duration of the workshop as well as any other countries which they might be traveling through. The cost of passport, visas, vaccinations or inoculations and health documents will not be met by the organizers. Yellow fever vaccination certificate is compulsory for all persons who have been even in transit in Africa or South America or Papua New Guines in the last six days prior to arrival in India.

Personal Insurance and Medical Services

The organizers shall not assume responsibility for any medical or hospitalization expenses in the event of accidents, sickness or similar contingencies.

An on-call doctor will be available and can be arranged by the hotel upon request with service charges to be borne by the participants.

Time Difference

Indian Standard Time is 5 hours and 30 minutes ahead of London and about 10 hours 30 minutes ahead of New York.

Currency Exchange

The local currency for India is Rupees and all money should be changed with authorized money changers. Please insist on a receipt which will help in reconverting Indian Rupees. Currency exchange can be done upon arrival at the airport or at the hotel reception counter.

Languages Spoken

While Hindi is most commonly spoken in and around Delhi, English is widely spoken and understood at all places.

Water and Electricity

It is recommended to use mineral water, which is easily available, for drinking. Electricity is on 220 volts supply. You may wish to carry a universal travel adaptor for your use. The attached picture shows the type of socket and plugs used in India.

Credit Cards

American Express, Citibank, MasterCard, Visa and Diners Club Credit Cards are generally accepted by hotels, shops, restaurants, etc.

Weather

Delhi and North India will be moderately cold at the time of the workshop. The temperatures are likely to range from 15-20 degrees during the day and 10-15 degrees during the night. All participants should bring suitable warm clothing.

Other Information

While all workshop participants will be provided meals and lodging during the seminar, the participants will be expected to bear other personal costs, such as laundry, long distance calls, mini bar, etc. Participants are requested to fill-in the Nomination Form attached as Annex.
