I have great pleasure in extending an invitation to you for attending the IBSA (India-Brazil-South Africa) International Workshop on South-South Cooperation on the subject ‘Innovations in Public Employment Programmes and Sustainable Inclusive Growth” in New Delhi (India) from 1st to 3rd March, 2012.

The Workshop is being organized by the Ministry of Labour & Employment, Government of India in collaboration with the Ministries of Rural Development, External Affairs and the International Labour Organization (ILO).

The objective of the Workshop is to build capacity and share knowledge between countries to ensure better cohesion for overall inclusive growth with equity, linking employment and social protection to Decent Work. The Workshop would help to better appreciate the range of policy issues relevant to public work programmes. It would also highlight how employment guarantee schemes can be efficiently managed and active labour market initiatives implemented.

The Background Note, Programme and other relevant details of the Workshop are enclosed for your information. We have already shared advance intimation relating to this Workshop with your Embassy in New Delhi. You are requested to participate in this Workshop, alongwith one delegate from your country.
