National Policy on Skill Development for India prioritizes the need for strengthened Labour Market Information Systems and Planning. The ILO has initiated a study to review the current sources and availability of skills development data and develop a proposal for a more coherent data system. The second meeting of the tripartite-plus Working Group, chaired by the Joint Secretary of MOLE, which has been set-up to ensure consultation and coherence, will meet on 21 September.
