A short interview with Jabed Ahmed, Additional Secretary, The Ministry of Expatriates' Welfare and Overseas Employment (MEWOE), on skilling of migrant workers.

He says how Bangladesh is one of the important countries that sends labour overseas — an estimated 10 million people from Bangladesh are working abroad. Most of this labour is unskilled and hence remittance flow is low. The government plans to send more skilled people to destination areas. Bangladesh government now plans to set up various training centres at the sub-district level so that people have access to these institutes and the government is able to send more skilled people to destination countries.
