Statistical Support to SDGs in Kyrgyzstan

On 21 and 22 September 2017, Bishkek, the capital of Kyrgyzstan, hosted the ILO seminar “The role of labour market information. Improving the system of labour market indicators”.

It was organized in cooperation with the National Statistical Committee of the Kyrgyz Republic and was opened by the Deputy Chair of the said Committee Ljuksina Tekeyeva.

The seminar participants explored various aspects related to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) for decent work, including a methodology for measuring any mismatch between employee skills and the work performed, and for measuring labour productivity.

This workshop is the first in a series of planned activities focusing on the SDGs. The event was held as part of the ILO project «From the Crisis towards Decent and Safe Jobs in Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan, Phase II», implemented with support from the Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Finland.
