Tashkent hosts second stage of ILO microfinance training course

The second stage of trainers’ certification course “Making microfinance work: Managing for improved performance” (MMW) based on the training package of the International Training Centre of the International Labour Organization in Turin (ITCILO) took place in Tashkent from November 9 to November 13. Seven participants in the training were selected by ILO experts during the first stage of the certification programme.

The training was organized within the framework of “Support to microfinance sector development” project jointly implemented by the Central Bank of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in cooperation with the ITCILO.

Cheryl Frankiewicz, ITCILO internationally accredited master trainer, the leading author of the training course and the author of a number of international microfinance publications visited Uzbekistan to conduct the five-day training.

The second stage of the training course was aimed at creating the national base of accredited trainers in microfinanceing.
