Publications

The ILO Country Office for the Philippines (CO-Manila) publishes a wide range of books, reports, working papers, training manuals, CD-ROMs, videos and flash movies. Some of these can be downloaded directly. Others can be requested or purchased in hard copy from the ILO Knowledge Centre in Manila or by email.

    The Work Improvement in Neighbourhood Development (WIND) training programme provides practical responses to the special problems of agricultural safety and health. Building on the ILO's experience gained through the WISE (Work Improvement in Small Enterprises) programme, WIND applies a participatory and action-oriented training approach, designed for rapid and sustainable improvements in farmers' safety, health and working conditions. To ensure relevance, as well as sustainability, WIND is very much reliant on, and responsive to, farmers' own initiatives, knowledge and resources.

  8. Inventory of micro-insurance schemes in the Philippines

    This study gives an overview of existing micro-insurance schemes in the Philippines. The study is part of a global effort to document ongoing experiences of communities, local organizations, trade unions and the like. It attempts to capture the differences, the outreach, the types of organizations providing micro-insurance, the extent of coverage, in terms of population and benefits, and the linkages that these schemes may have with public or private programmes and with other schemes. Similar studies are conducted in selected countries in Africa, Asia and Latin America.
