For the people of Bakun, the study is an attempt to put into writing how the community's key cultural wealth and indigenous knowledge systems and practices, which have been transmitted orally over generations, have propelled the community's development process.There were certainly come a time when the cycle of oral tradition will be broken as more and more youg people of the Kankanaey-Bago community move to the cities of college education and employment. As they engage in other pursuits, members of the younger generation will no doubt leave behind their cultural roots as they imbibe other cultural and social influences.
