Domestic Workers Act
Republic Act No. 10361, otherwise known as the "Domestic Workers Act" or "Batas Kasambahay"
The Republic Act No. 10361 was a consolidation of Senate Bill No. 78 and House Bill No. 6144, passed by the Senate and House of Representatives and was approved by His Excellency Benigno S. Aquino III, President of the Philippines on 18 January 2013.
Domestic work or "kasambahay" refers to any person engaged in domestic work within an employment relationship such as, but not limited to the following general househelp, nursemaid or "yaya", cook, gardener or laundry person, but shall exclude any person who performs domestic work only occasionally or sporadically and not on an occupational basis.
