ILO recognizes that HIV/AIDS is a public health emergency and believes that the workplace is key to prevent the spread of the epidemic as well as providing information and assistance on treatment and support.
The handbook draws its ideas from a wide spectrum of resources, primarily the ILO Code of Practice. It is designed to provide good-practice information on workplace programmes from around the world at the same time as focusing on local perspectives, giving its users the inspiration that they need and also the "know-how".
