The ILO’s Strengthening the Impact of Trade on Employment in the Philippines (STRENGTHEN), and the GSP+ Beneficiary Countries to Effectively Implement International Labour Standards and Comply with Reporting Obligations, two EU-funded projects collaborated to present outputs achieved as a result of their respective strategies. The collaboration was part of the ILO’s Centenary in the Philippines held on 11 April 2019.

The two ILO projects generally support the Philippines’ on better use of the Generalised Scheme of Preferences (GSP+), which grants zero duty on the country's exports to the EU. To support the Philippines’ commitment on ratified core ILO Conventions, one of the projects promoted better application of principles of freedom of association and right to collective bargaining in the Philippines.
