ECOP, PHILWEN, ILO hold Diversity & Inclusion Committee National Launch

In line with this commitment to help businesses create environments where all people can thrive, ECOP and PBCWE (through PhilWEN) have joined forces to launch the ECOP’s Diversity and Inclusion (D&I) Committee.

In 2019, the ILO Report on Women in Business and Management: The Business Case for Change, concluded that gender diversity can improve organizational performance by adopting diversity and inclusion initiatives that are quantifiable, factual, and evidence-based. In response to this study’s findings in September 2020, the ILO Women in STEM Programme, in cooperation with Investing in Women and the Employers Confederation of the Philippines (ECOP) and the Philippine Business Coalition of Women Empowerment (PBCWE), launched the Call to Action on Diversity and Inclusion at the Center of Business Leadership with member companies of PBCWE and ECOP. This Call to Action resulted in the creation of the Diversity and Inclusion Committee at the Employers Confederation of the Philippines with the Philippine Women's Economic Network (PhilWEN).

In line with this commitment to help businesses create environments where all people can thrive, ECOP and PBCWE (through PhilWEN) have joined forces to launch the ECOP’s Diversity and Inclusion (D&I) Committee. The Committee will champion diversity and inclusion in the workplace, which covers various areas including women empowerment, gender mainstreaming, and equal employment opportunity, among others. The committee seeks to engage members of both ECOP and PBCWE and promote the advocacy of diversity and inclusion in the workplace through webinars/dialogues/RTDs/other activities on the gender equality, women entrepreneurship, disability inclusion for employers and inclusive leadership.

Leading the launch are members of the Employers Confederation of the Philippines, the Philippine Women’s Economic Network and advocates of diversity and inclusion in the workplace in organizations across the Philippines.
