Public Sector Worker's Organizations Writeshop for Joint Draft Executive Orders

The workshop, organized by International Labour Organization together with the Danish Trade Union Council for International Development Cooperation (LO FTF), was aimed to discuss two joint Executive Orders (EOs) on social dialogue and security of tenure in the public sector.

The public sector worker's organizations representing Confederation of Independent Unions (CIU), Confederation for Unity Recognition and Advancement of Government Employees (COURAGE), Philippine Independent Public Sector Employees Association (PIPSEA), Philippine Government Employees' Association (PGEA), Public Services Labor Independent Confederation (PSLIK), Kapisanan ng Manggagawa sa Government Financial Institutions (KAMAGFI), and labour representatives of the Public Sector Labor-Management Council (PSLMC), came together to discuss two joint Executive Orders (EO) to address institutionalization of social dialogue and security of tenure in the public sector, proposed to be presented for adoption by the President.  The proposed EO on social dialogue aligns with the provisions of  ILO Convention 151 - Labour Relations (Public Service), 1978 ratified in 10 October 2017 by the Philippines, the first in Asia and the Pacific.

The workers' workshop was made possible through joint support by the ILO and the LO FTF (Danish Trade Union Council for International Development Cooperation). The drafting of EOs is an implementation of the Multi-sectoral Action Plan (MAP) covering the period 2018-2022, which identified key result areas adopting the decent work framework.
