Occupational safety and health study tour

Nepal Government Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) Study Tour

The International Labour Organization Country Office for the Philippines (ILO CO-Manila) in partnership with the Ministry of Labour and Employment (MoLE) in Nepal organized a five-day exposure mission to the Philippines for Senior Government officials from MoLE.

The objective of the study tour is to share and exchange experience on policy, provisions, guidelines, best practices and monitoring mechanism of OSH standards in the Philippines for formulation of national occupational safety and health policy and its implementation in Nepal.

Officials from the Nepal Government were able to meet with the officials of the Occupational Safety and Health Centre (OSHC), Bureau of Working Conditions (BWC), Employees Compensation Commission (ECC), Bureau of Labor Relations (BLR), National Wages and Productivity Commission (NWPC) of the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), Disease Prevention and Control Bureau (DPCB) of the Department of Health (DOH), and College of Public Health of the University of the Philippines Manila. There were also site visits to construction sites and garments factory in Subic, Zambales and informal sector sites Angono, Rizal.
