ILO ACT/EMP Norway and Netherlands Projects in Nepal

In close partnership with the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI), ACT/EMP has recently launched two projects in Nepal: (1) Youth Employment and Social Dialogue funded by Norway, and (2) Mainstreaming Tripartism and Product Development for Employers' Organizations, funded by the Netherlands. The primary objectives of these projects are to enhance FNCCI's capacity in implementing various activities related to Decent Work Country Programme for Nepal.

The Project has launched two important activities in close partnership with the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI) on 1. Youth Employment and Social Dialogue 2. Netherlands ILO Cooperation Programme (NICP) Mainstreaming Tripartism and Product Development for Employers Organizations. These two activities are implemented in line with the priority areas of ILO’s Decent Work Country Programme for Nepal involving all tripartite constituents.
The main objectives and areas of work of these two activities are :

  • Enhance the capacity of employers through research and studies;
  • Increase and strengthen the provision of employment services for youths;
  • Promote social dialogue improving the relations between workers’ and employers’ organizations and the government;
  • Promote youth entrepreneurship to create more jobs for youths, explore businesses/employment opportunities;
  • Empower employers’ organization and youth entrepreneurs through trainings, dialogue and capacity development in research/studies;
  • Promote ILO’s global objectives to strengthen tripartism and social dialogue
