  2. Meeting for Task Force on quality tea through promotion of responsible and sustainable business practices in the tea sector

    The main aims of the Tea Task Force meeting is to speed up a tripartite-plus partnership approach between the government, workers’ and employers’ organizations and other relevant stakeholders in order to promote responsible business practices in the orthodox tea sector.

  3. Partnerships launching ceremony of Advocacy Challenge Fund

    The main objective is to launch the partnership between the Advocacy Challenge Fund (ACF) grantees and the International Labour Organization (ILO). The event will also serve to provide an opportunity to share the importance and relevance of the project in the context of Nepal.

  15. Training of Trainers on Work Improvement in Small Construction Sites (WISCON)

    22 - 25 March 2017

    Recognizing the need to address the decent work deficits faced by the construction sector workers in Nepal, the ILO is providing technical support to the relevant stakeholders in the construction sector and promote decent work through formalization of the informal economy.

  1. Youth Dialogue on Nepali Youth’s Vision for the Future of Work

    15 December 2016

    The ILO facilitated a dialogue on 15 December 2016 with Nepali youth representing various sectors and interests to discuss opportunities and challenges around youth employment in Nepal. The discussion identified implications of transformational changes in the world of work for the Nepali youth as they prepare for upcoming labour market changes.

  2. ILO celebrates its 50th Anniversary with Nepal

    On 14 December 2016, the ILO Country Office for Nepal celebrated 50 years of development partnership between Nepal and the ILO.

  3. Workshop to prepare for a Sector Study in Nepal (ECLM project)

    A Workshop was held in Kathmandu from August 29 - September 2 in in the context of the project "Assessing the economic contribution of labour migration in developing countries as countries of destination" (ECLM). The workshop was organised in collaboration with Social Science Baha, a research institution in Nepal, and discussed the implementation of a study of the manufacturing and small trade sectors.
