National Steering Committee Meeting of the ILO's Way Out of Informality Project in Nepal

The National Steering Committee (NSC) meeting of the Way Out of Informality Project in Nepal aims to review project implementation and progress sharing, as well as to provide strategic feedback and policy guideline. The NSC comprises of tripartite structure representing from the Government, Workers' and Employers’ Organizations. The Committee is chaired by the Secretary of the Ministry of Labour and Employment (MOLE).

The objective of the meeting is to provide overall guidance and strategic support for effective implementation of the project as well as updating project progress and endorse plan of action to maximize collective efforts for formalizing informal economy in Nepal.
  

The NSC Meeting reviewed the implementation of the progress activities and extended their commitment to support for formalizing informal economy in Nepal.  The meeting approved both Action Plan and Budget for 2016.  The Chairperson, Mr Bishnu Prasad Lamsal, Secretary, of the Ministry of Labour and Employment (MoLE), emphasized on collective efforts to all in achieving transition to formal economy in Nepal.
