Dissemination workshop on Country Report: Labour Laws, Business Environment and Growth of Micro and Small Enterprises in Nepal (MSEs)

The ILO conducted a research to develop a better understanding of the role of labour laws and other business regulations in fostering an environment conducive to micro and small enterprise growth, with financial assistance from the Norwegian Agency for Development Cooperation (NORAD). It forms part of the four country studies in South Asia; Bangladesh, India, Nepal and Sri Lanka. This is to share the methodology and findings of the study. In Nepal, four hundred and nine (409) enterprises were surveyed from four sectors: agro processing, carpet & garments, tourism and information technology with five to seventy employees.
