Workshop on Reformation of Bonded Labour Act

The main objective was to communicate the key decision of the government on reformation of the Bonded Labour Prohibition Act and have inputs from the key stakeholders and the target groups about the needs to be addressed in the reformed law. Both technical and financial support were provided to the Ministry of Land Reform and Management (MoLRM). There were forty-six participants from the concerned Ministries (Ministry of Labour and Employment and Ministry of Law Ministry of Law, Justice, Constituent Assembly & Parliamentary Affairs), external legal experts, key non-governmental organizations working for elimination of bonded labour, and the concerned groups (Kamaiya, Haliya and Haruwa/Charuwa).
