ILO Nepal receives an Award of Honor

ILO Country Director honoured for ILO’s contribution to private sector development in Nepal.

The Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI) has recognized Richard Howard, Director of the ILO Country Office for Nepal, with an Award of Honor.

Richard Howard, received the award from the President of FNCCI at the inauguration ceremony of FNCCI’s 54th Annual General Meeting held today (26 November 2020). The ceremony took place in the presence of Right Honourable Prime Minster of Nepal, Mr. K.P Sharma Oli.

The award was given in recognition of ILO Nepal’s support to FNCCI efforts promoting socio-economic development through private sector- led economic development. FNCCI –  an umbrella organization of Nepalese private sector organizations and ILO have a long history of partnership, working together in areas including labour market reforms, workplace cooperation, social dialogue, industrial relations and entrepreneurship development.

On the occasion, the Prime Minister of Nepal Mr K.P Sharma Oli highlighted the role of the private sector in driving  economic growth and employment promotion. He stressed the government’s openness to address issues relating to private sector growth and expansion,  considering it a true partner for national development.

Ms Bhawani Rana, the President of FNCCI underlined ILO’s contribution in Nepal towards socio-economic development, sustainable enterprises and promoting industrial relations. 

ILO Nepal Director Mr Richard Howard expressed his sincere thanks to FNCCI for their appreciation and expressed ILO’s commitment for continued collaboration and support.
