Recovering from the crisis – A Chinese experience

The Ministry of Human Resource and Social Security (MOHRSS) of China, together with its social partners, All-China Federation of Trade Unions (ACFTU) and China Enterprise Confederation (CEC) will jointly host a panel discussion on “Tackling the Financial Crisis and Promoting Employment in China”, as an example of policy implementation advocated by the Global Jobs Pact. The panel will take place on 10 June, 14:00-15:00, at Room IX, ILO Geneva.

The discussion will showcase how the policy package introduced by China in response to the crisis helped maintain economic growth, preserve jobs, guarantee livelihood for millions of people, and develop harmonious labour relations.

The panel will be composed of: Mr. Wang Yadong, Deputy Director-General, Employment Promotion Department, MOHRSS, Mr. Jiang Guangping, Director-General, International Department, ACFTU, Workers deputy memer of the GB, Mr. Li Jianming, Vice Executive Director, CEC, Ms. Zhang Yali, Director-General, Department of International Cooperation, MOHSS, Mr. José Manuel Salazar-Xirinachs, Executive Director, Employment Sector, ILO, Ms. Sachiko Yamamoto, Regional Director, ILO Bangkok.
