Improving access and participation of people with disabilities (PWDs) in vocational higher education in Indonesia: challenges and policy options

Collaboration of the Skills for Prosperity Programme with the four partner polytechnics delivered a series of capacity-building events for both staff and students and facilitated a self-assessment as a guide to describe each institution’s readiness to enrol and provide reasonable adjustments to support students with disabilities.

The initiative aims to provide a replicable model that – backed by appropriate policies and regulations – can support more PwDs in accessing a wider range of higher-level vocational qualifications and can also bring about their progression into inclusive workplaces that benefit from a highly-skilled workforce.
